An 'Exit Event' is an event that triggers the contact to be removed or finish a flow.
There are two options to choose from:
- Exit on Order - This will remove a customer as soon as they make an order through Shopify. An example of how this is useful would be if a welcome flow is created with several automated messages encouraging a customer to make an initial purchase. If the customer makes a purchase at any point in the welcome series, they will be exited out and not receive any more messages in that flow.
- Exit on Reply - This will remove a customer from a flow as soon as there is an inbound message received post the triggering event. An example of where this is useful would be if requesting feedback on an order. If a customer provides feedback before the scheduled message (requesting feedback) is sent, the customer will exit out of the flow and would not receive this automation.
